HRM Projects

Seminars at Campus Künzelsau of Heilbronn University

Since 2016 we closely collaborate with Campus Künzelsau of Heilbronn University. Besides a diversity of bachelor theses we particularly often engage with students who work on their seminar projects in the field of HRM – Human Resource Management. A group of students chooses a practical project which is then implemented within one semester. Besides that additional seminars are and have been offered.

2018/19

– Crash Course  Image Film: exemplified through the Trust Bongai Shamwari e.V.
– Seminar intercultural aspects: exemplified through the Trust Bongai Shamwari e.V.

2019

– Development of concept, planning and implementation of an exhibition about the Kindergarten project Bongai Shamwari

– Development of a fundraising concept towards the financing of a caretaker position tailored to children with disabilities for the Trust Bongai Shamwari

2019/20

– Development of concept, planning and implementation of a benefit concert for the Trust Bongai Shamwari e.V.

– Development of a fundraising concept towards the financing of the stay of four Zimbabwean artists in Germany, in conjunction with the exhibition Bongai Shamwari

In this way Bongai Shamwari has been able to carry out a variety of projects successfully and will continue to offer opportunities in the future. We would like to thank everyone at University Heilbronn who has been part of these activities for their highly creative collaboration.

Active engagement with the steering committee, or the project

Active engagement with the Trust is always welcome! Whether it is the support of the steering committee, or participation as a ‘normal’ Trust member – there is always something to do – whether project oriented or a long-term commitment – depending on time and desire, it’s increasingly fun.

A word from the members

Since the beginning of 2019 I support Bongai Shamwari by handling the communication with the sponsors of our ‘Scholarship children’. Since my time as a volunteer in Zimbabwe shaped me deeply it is important to me to engage with the Trust and in this small way continue my support of the project.

I am a founding member and hence part of the project since the very beginning. Even though I did not consciously choose a specific role I am deeply involved with the work of the Trust, whether it is the support of fundraising campaigns, or of art sales the proceeds of which go towards the Trust. Our stay in Zimbabwe in August 2019 particularly left a deep imprint on me. Meeting the people of Zimbabwe, becoming a part of their lives and sorrows motivated and spurred me tremendously.

When Christa asked me in spring 2018 if I would like to be a founding member and take on an honorary appointment in the Trust, I probably did not hesitate any more than one night. This is how I became treasurer of the Trust. As a retired engineer I have time and can oversee and structure our finances, and unburden the creatives. Meanwhile I got to know the many positive aspects of the project – in Zimbabwe and in Germany. You can join too.

I am involved with the project since 2017 and am also a founding member of the Trust, and esp. a whole-hearted vice chairman. My engagement in Germany is multifaceted and due to the diverse backgrounds of the members I am learning and benefiting a lot. In the project and in the Trust we question the project and our development policy work time and again. Join and be a part of it.

I am connected with Zimbabwe since more than 30 years. I came here with my family in 1985 and have been unable to disengage ever since. Bongai Schamwari has become a life task and a heart’s journey. The project enriches my life every day. It’s the local people who I can’t live without anymore. The close collaboration in the Trust, particularly with my counterpart Anna allows me to await the future with ease. The project is carried by many characterful hands.

I was in Mutare from the beginning of May till the end of July 2023 and have visited the kindergarten multiple times. The project Bongai Shamwari is a bright star in the midst of darkness. The values conveyed to the children form the foundation for their life journey. A Trust membership / donation / sponsorship means that this star wont loose its brightness now or in the future.

During my Zimbabwe journey (2022) I was able to win over Manicaland State University for a partnership of international academic exchange with Heilbronn University. Unforgettable are the meaningful moments of cordiality and human warmth. I deeply appreciate that our successful cooperation allows for constant engagement of Heilbronn University with Bongai Shamwari.
